This abandoned railroad tunnel near Quitaque, Texas, is home to a half million Mexican freetail bats each spring/summer/fall and is part of the Caprock Canyons State Park and Trailway system. Each night you can watch their emergence out the south end of the tunnel into an epic view of the Llano Estacado. You can carefully walk through before sunset and hear them getting ready for their nightly feeding.
