When I recently visited The Wave in Coyote Buttes North, I had tempered expectations because I had seen hundreds of photos already and didn't think I'd see anything new. When I first walked through that feature I was surprised when the experience exceeded my expectations. When we found and then entered The Alcove, it was hard for me to take it all in at once. It was hard to make sense of what I was walking through. I had no idea of how to photograph any of it. How do you capture such an amazing feature that surrounds you completely? This photo features the large sand dune that is the center piece of The Alcove. It'll take me some time go through all the photos to see if any of them will help me share the experience with you.
